ClassTrack listens to a recording of one lesson and writes feedback on the teaching in it. It scores the lesson against a rubric, which is the list of things you want the teaching judged on, and that rubric is the one thing classroom observation shares with Assignment Evaluation. Everything else is up to your platform. ClassTrack does not change your rubrics, lesson plans, or worksheets, and nothing else in CrazyGoldFish reads its results.

What does ClassTrack need before it can run?

A recording, four IDs that come from other CrazyGoldFish APIs, your own teacher ID, and the date of the lesson. All of those are required. An institution ID of your own is the only optional field, so a recording and a rubric alone are not enough to start an analysis. The rubric is the real hand-off. You write the criteria once, and the same rubric can score written work through Assignment Evaluation and teaching through ClassTrack. Your platform passes the rubric ID to both.
ClassTrack reads audio only, as one MP3 file per lesson, and you host the file yourself. There is no upload, and video is not supported. Recordings are transcribed in English (United States) and Hindi (India).

Your platform sends the recording

One request with the link and the IDs above. You get an analysis ID straight away.

CrazyGoldFish transcribes the audio

This runs in the background. The transcript is plain text with no speaker labels and no timings.

The AI scores the lesson against your rubric

Each rubric criterion gets a score and written observations. The score is a short piece of text, not a number.

Your platform collects the result

Check the analysis by its ID until it is done. If the API user making the call has registered the class_track_analysis webhook, CrazyGoldFish also calls your server when the job finishes or fails. A webhook is registered per API user, not per account, so register it with the user that creates the analyses. The webhook says only that the job ended, so you still fetch the result yourself.
A job is In progress, Completed, or Failed.

What do you get back?

Everything comes back as text in one response. There is no report file and no screen to embed.
Both scores are text written by the AI, not values on a scale. If your product needs a number or a rating to store or compare, work it out on your side from the text, and expect the wording to vary between analyses.

What does your platform do with the result?

Whatever you decide. CrazyGoldFish does not act on an observation for you.

Show it to the teacher

The summary, the rubric feedback, and the three suggestion lists are written for the teacher to read. Display them in your own product.

Store it and compare over time

Each analysis covers one lesson and is fetched by its own ID. If you want a teacher’s history or a school-wide view, keep the results in your own database and build the view there.

Plan the next lesson

If the feedback points at a topic that needs reteaching, your platform can create a lesson plan or a worksheet for it. That is a separate API call that you make, with the topic you chose.

Adjust the rubric yourself

If a criterion is not working, edit it with the Rubrics API. ClassTrack never edits a rubric.

What does classroom observation not do?

  • It does not measure how long the teacher spoke compared with the students, and it does not tell speakers apart.
  • It does not report pacing, sentiment, or a count of questions asked.
  • It does not produce a dashboard, a list of analyses, or any school-wide or teacher-wide view.
  • It does not send anything to parents.
  • It does not change rubrics, lesson plans, worksheets, or evaluation results.

Frequently asked questions

No. Send one MP3 file per lesson, as a public https:// link that ends in .mp3. If you record video, take the audio out of it first.
English (United States) and Hindi (India). The language is detected automatically and cannot be set in the request.
No. The result is returned to your platform and stored against that one analysis. Any change to a rubric, a lesson plan, or a worksheet is a separate call that your platform makes.
Not in CrazyGoldFish. You can only fetch one analysis at a time, by its ID. Save the results in your own system to compare them.
The job ends as Failed. If you registered a webhook, it fires with that status. Check that the link is a public https:// address ending in .mp3 and that it opens without a login.
Yes. The rubric ID is required, and the rubric decides what the lesson is scored on. Create one with the Rubrics API first.
