Parent Action Plan Use Cases

Schools

The ask: Parents get a mark sheet and no idea what to do with it. What the API supports today: A student action plan explains, in plain language, what the student found difficult and what to do next, with advice for each question where marks were lost. A school can put that summary in front of a family at a parents’ evening or in a report your platform builds. What it does not support: Weekly activity packs for parent and child, plans in a local language, and anything sent automatically to a family.

Learning platforms (LMS and ERP)

The ask: A parent view inside the platform, updated after every exam. What the API supports today: Your platform can request a student action plan per answer sheet, receive the student_action_plan webhook when the plan is ready, and show the parts it chooses in a parent screen you build. The plan comes back with the student ID and name recorded on the answer sheet, so it files itself against the right learner. What it does not support: A ready-made parent screen, delivery by SMS, WhatsApp, or email, and parent engagement figures.

E-learning providers

The ask: Keep families informed when the student studies alone at home. What the API supports today: After each evaluated paper, a student action plan gives a written next step and an encouraging tip that a family can act on together. What it does not support: A schedule of home activities, reminders, and any messaging of any kind.

Before you build a parent experience

• Decide who may see a plan. The API returns a plan to the API user that created it and applies no rules of its own, so every sharing decision is yours.
• Do not pass on a teacher action plan. It lists the student IDs of everyone who lost marks on a question.
• Plan for English wording. Plans are written in English only.
• Plan for gaps. A student who lost no marks produces little or no content, because only questions with marks deducted are looked at.
